As I reflect on my journey, I often find myself being an overachiever; a trait that brings both blessings and burdens. On one hand, it pushes me to excel and strive for more, yet on the other hand, it can lead to neglecting self-care and feeling guilty for moments of leisure. This constant drive for productivity affects all aspects of my life, dictating my social interactions and even my perception of fun.
For the longest time, the idea of starting a blog seemed contrary to my productivity-oriented mindset. What purpose would it serve? How could I justify spending time on something that didn't directly contribute to my goals? These questions along with the doubts about the value of my voice in a sea of information readily available online kept me from dedicating my time to writing.
However a pivotal moment shifted my perspective. As a self-taught web developer navigating the job market, I am committed to remain productive and make the most out of my time. It was during this hunt for knowledge that podcasts became my companion, offering insights and inspiration from the industry experts. Out of the podcasts that I explored, “How to code” by Robert Guss stood out to me and refilled my motivation multiple times as I was feeling the imposter syndrome kicking in. His emphasis on the transformative power of writing led me to see the value of delving deep into one's thoughts and confronting knowledge gaps.
With this newfound clarity, I undertook the journey of my own blog. Despite the anxiety and fear of exposing my thoughts to potential scrutiny, I recognized the inherent worth of the process. Whether my blog resonates with others or simply serves as a personal exercise for self-discovery and learning, the act of writing would be a catalyst for my growth.
As I am writing my first blog post, I embrace the uncertainty and vulnerability that accompany it and strive to discover insights and bridge my knowledge gaps. The blog represents not only a platform for sharing but also a testament to my ongoing evolution as a web developer and a person. In the end, it is not about the number of readers or the validation received. It's about the journey of self-discovery and the commitment to growth. And so, I start this journey with optimism and determination and I'm eager to see where this path of exploration leads me.
